AZN 6.4 mln in damages recovered in criminal cases in Baku this year

A total of 6,909 criminal offenses were registered by the prosecutor's office and internal affairs bodies in Baku during the first half of 2026, with 93.2% of them solved, APA reports.

This was announced at an operational meeting held at the Baku City Prosecutor's Office.

It was noted that during the reporting period, the city's prosecution authorities completed the preliminary investigation of 120 criminal cases, 70 of which were referred to the relevant courts for consideration.

In criminal cases whose preliminary investigation was completed by the prosecution authorities in Baku, compensation was secured for AZN 6,432,712, or 73.2%, of the total material damage amounting to AZN 8,777,740 caused to the state, individuals, and legal entities.
