Monument erected to Ukrainian great poet Taras Shevchenko inaugurated in Baku

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko attended the event. Addressing the event, the Ukrainian President estimated erection of monument as a token of respect to Ukrainians.
â€œThis makes us closerâ€, he said. Aliyev added that erection of the monument to ardent patriot in Azadlig Square is of symbolizing character. Ilham Aliyev stated that the two nations respected each other and inauguration of the monument was an example for it.
