David Kramer: â€œUpcoming presidential election is a big opportunity for Azerbaijanâ€

APA reports, Kramer told journalists after the meeting that he had held very constructive and open dialogues in Azerbaijan. He said these dialogues were very important for both sides and noted that he had discussed upcoming presidential elections and situation of media in Azerbaijan. â€œThis election is a big opportunity for Azerbaijan. If the elections meet the international standards it will open big opportunities for Azerbaijanâ€. Kramer said his country was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan and reminded that the relations were particularly developing in the energy and security fields. â€˜However democracy and freedom of media are very important for us. The most important and significant partner for the US is democratically developing country. The election is not just the process of voting and accounting of votes. The election campaign is important too. Enough international observers will watch the electionsâ€.
