Lale Shovket: Publication of Rasul Guliyev’s letter also caused Serdar Jalaloglu’s dismissal
Commenting on Rasul Guliyev’s opinion about Azadliq alliance’s separation Lale Shovkat said that there is no need to worry about the alliance’s separation.
“Let those who often say it be sure that the alliance will never separate. Rasul Guliyev was one of the founders of the alliance. How could he agree to the separation of the alliance? I do not believe it. I consider that Rasul Guliyev will not want the alliance to be separated, she said.
Lale Shovket said that Azadliq will continue its activity after the Azerbaijan Democrat Party’s (ADP) dismissal but anyway ADP’s dismissal from the alliance is a loss.
“ADP’s new course and position different from that of alliance’s caused ADP’s dismissal from the alliance. It is connected with our criteria and standards.
“Azadliq alliance has its own standards and these standards are based on refusing mandates, not adopting reelections and imitative democracy. Azadliq alliance pays attention to quality not to quantity. The decision concerning ADP has nothing to do with personal relations, she said.
Lale Shovket confessed that publication of Rasul Guliyev’s letter in the press also influenced on Serdar Jalaloglu’s dismissal from the alliance.
“But Serdar Jalaloglu knows that this step was taken with regard to their new course. We have been discussing the new course for two months. We doubted the new course, did not understand it and every time we looked through the newspapers, we saw that this course does not coincide with our line. We used to tell Serdar Jalaloglu about it and discuss the problem for hours. Therefore I think that political cause was observed while taking the decision, though the publication of the letter had a role in it. The aim is connected with ADP’s political activity. The publication of the letter is another problem. We wish Serdar Jalaloglu success in his new course. WE should not forget that ADP has two wings, one of them is led by Rasul Guliyev the other by Serdar Jalaloglu and we would like to preserve their integrity. We worked on the problem for two months but could manage it. The main thing is that we parted in the framework of etiquette, did not burn the bridges and who will support to our position, will be with us. I respect Rasul Guliyev. I would not like to burn the bridges. Our activities are different, she said.
Lale Shovket also commented on whether she represents Azerbaijan Liberal Party or National Unity Movement in Azadliq alliance. She said that Azerbaijan Liberal Party, 32 NGOs and several intelligentsias are represented in National Unity Movement and she represents National Unity Movement, including the Azerbaijan Liberal Party. /APA/
