Working group composed of governmental officials and NGO representatives on political prisoners held a session today, Helsinki Citizen Assembly Azerbaijan National Committee chief Arzu Abdullayev told APA.
He said that NGO appeals to the state on releasing political prisoners were discussed at the session. NGO representatives urged the state to release political prisoners in bad health. Arzu Abdullayev noted that governmental officials wanted the term “political prisoner� to be replaced.
“Governmental officials replaced the term “political prisoner� with “probable political prisoner�. But the most important thing is to ensure their release�, he said. /APA/
