Azerbaijani President receives Secretary General of the World Customs Organization

Baku - APA-Economics. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today received Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya.

Stressing that Azerbaijan is an active member of the WCO, the President noted the importance of holding the next conference of the heads of customs services of the European region in Baku. President Aliyev expressed confidence that this conference would serve to further strengthen of cooperation between the organization and Azerbaijan.

Stressing the dynamic economic development of Azerbaijan, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization expressed satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan. Mikuriya noted that the success of last yearâ€™s international conference on combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs was very helpful to the World Customs Organization, and that based on the results of this event in Brussels, organized by the authoritative conference.

It was noted that there were good opportunities for further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WCO.
