Azerbaijanâ€™s ruling party: â€œOppositionâ€™s April 8 rally failedâ€

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. â€œI think that the oppositionâ€™s April 8 rally failed. If we compare the number of participants with number of organizers, we will see that each party could bring on average more than 20-30 people to the rally. People didnâ€™t support the rally organized by majority of organizations represented in Public Chamber, opposition. This factor is nothing but the next failure of rally tactics and rally mood of the oppositionâ€, said Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov told YAPâ€™s website.

Ahmadov said that this event says that Azerbaijani citizens were completely indifferent to opposition and its rally demands. Azerbaijani society, citizens showed tat they donâ€™t support opposition, said Ahmadov. â€œThe processes show that if opposition attempts to hold rally once again, the result will not differ, rather, it will be more sorrowful for themâ€.

According to Ahmadov, Azerbaijani opposition became morally old: â€œBut our society grows young and develops. Thatâ€™s why great contradiction appeared between society and out-of-date opposition. The opposition canâ€™t understand this contradiction and doesnâ€™t want to recognize that it became old. It is impossible for Azerbaijani society to support such oppositionâ€.
