Baku City Executive Power responds Musavat Party’s appeal on holding congress
# 30 March 2012 15:44 (UTC +04:00)
Chief of the BCEP department for political parties and public unions Zaur Ramazanov told APA that the Musavat Party first demanded Sport Palace (former Hand Games and Sport Palace of Baku) and then Opera and Ballet Theatre for holding the congress: “Due to the Eurovison song contest’s national selection in the Baku Sport Palace, it was impossible to allow the party to hold the congress there. Also holding congress and conferences in the above-mention complex doesn’t correspond to the accepted directions.”

Ramazanov said: “The Party was informed that the Opera and Ballet theatre is in the balance of Ministry of Culture and Tourism and so the question should be coordinated with the ministry.”

Party’s deputy chairman Gulagha Aslanli told APA that the party received the letter of response and noted that they regard the response of the Baku city Executive Power as a step forward: “We will meet with the managers of the Opera and Ballet Theatre on Monday.” Aslanli said that they don’t want to hold the Congress in the Cultural Centre named Adil Iskenderov in Bakikhanov district and cultural centers in Amirjan and Mashtagha settlement, because there are not enough seats.

Musavat Party addressed the Baku City Executive Power for holding congress in the Hand Games and Sport Palace of Baku on March 3-4 some time ago. Baku major office refused this appeal and Musavat Party postponed the congress till indefinite time.
