Elnur Aslanov: This rally has shown that modern Azerbaijani youth does not see the opposition parties as alternative to the authorities

According to Elnur Aslanov, for years the opposition organizations have claimed that there are â€œa lot of protesting votersâ€ in Azerbaijan, but there is no suitable place for them to hold rally.

Elnur Aslanov said grounding their weakness by the lack of conditions to hold â€œnumerous ralliesâ€, opposition parties attempted to prove to the foreign public that the right to freedom of assembly is not observed in Azerbaijan.
â€œTodayâ€™s rally has demonstrated the inconsistence of these statements. Firstly, the government has allotted venue for this and other rallies. Secondly, the security of the participants is ensured. Thirdly, the initiators of the rally had enough time to organize it. But despite the announcements on the social networks and internet, the opposition failed to bring together more than 250-200. This shows once more that modern Azerbaijani youth does not see the opposition parties as alternative to the authorities,â€ he said.
