APA reports that Bashirli noted in his letter that he was completely reformed. He said he was arrested on August 4, 2005 and sentenced to 7-year imprisonment by the decision of the Grave Crimes Court. â€œI served 6 years and 7 months in prison. During these years, I understand the responsibility for the crime and my mistake. In that period, I was young and hot-tempered and thatâ€™s why I fell under the influence of the forces that dislike you and us. In these years, I analyzed and understood my mistakes. Of course, the positive works carried out under your leadership had a great role. Your successful domestic and foreign policy is evident. No one can deny it. As a result of work carried out under Your leadership, Azerbaijan has resolved the problem of unemployment, created new production fields, increased salaries of public employees. Baku and other regions of the country were fundamentally reconstructed.

At the same time, as a result of Your activity, Azerbaijan increased its influence in the world, prestigious publications and organizations welcomed your activity and Azerbaijan was worthily represented in several international organizations.

Mr. President! As a completely reformed Azerbaijani young person, I support Your activity. I want to continue this support out of prison. When you believe and pardon me, I will work and support your activity.

I note that my family is waiting longingly for my return. I ask you to take the situation of my family into consideration. I would like to note that my family has always supported your activity despite my imprisonment.

Mr. President! Taking the above-mentioned issues into account, I ask you to pardon me. I will not join anymore the forces that envy your activity. Of course, these forces are those who call themselves an oppositionâ€.

Bashirli was sentenced to 7-year imprisonment by the decision of Grave Crimes Court. He was indicted in accordance with the Criminal Codeâ€™s article No 278.
