We are fully ready to host Olympic Games in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev

Baku-APA. President Ilham Aliyev addressing at the opening ceremony noted that hosting international sports events in the country becomes tradition.
The Head of the State said that Azerbaijan also applied for holding Olympic Games in Azerbaijan in 2020.
â€œI am sure that this year, our athletes will make us happy once again with their success at the Olympic Games. Our athletes are actively preparing for these games, and we hope that the Olympic Games we will have great success. Ground for thinking in this way let us our previous performance at the Olympics. Each time, the number of medals won at the Olympics are growing and Azerbaijan presents itself to the world and the world sports community as a sports powerâ€, added President Ilham Aliyev.

The President noted that also Azerbaijani citizens want this and according to international surveys conducted in Azerbaijan 95 percent of people also support the event to take place in Baku.

Ilham Aliyev stressing provision of the highest level security in the country added that stability in Azerbaijan is a very important factor to hold Olympic Games in Baku.

The President also talked about successes and achievements in other fields and realized project in the country.
