It is just a next libel written about meâ€, Chairman of Board of Directors of ZQAN Holding, Founder of America-Azerbaijan Alliance Anar Mammadov told APA commenting on the reports that he beat former head of Guba region Rauf Habibov. Mammadov also explained why he kept silence on the previous reports about him: â€œThe main reason of my silence is my unwillingness to react to a false thing. I expressed my reaction by appealing the court. Azerbaijan is a democratic country, it has a free press. It is necessary to specify, think and know a person before writing anything about this personâ€.

Mammadov also answered the question whether he will refuse to accept compensation to be paid him by â€œAzadliqâ€ and â€œYeni Musavatâ€ newspapers under the court decision: â€œThe court will decide on it, I can not comment on it in advanceâ€.

He also spoke about the activity of America-Azerbaijan Alliance: â€œAmerica-Azerbaijan Alliance is a new organization and was founded on May 11, 2011 in Washington, DC. Our main purpose is to introduce the idea of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanism, the realities, culture of our country to the US. Every person can send a letter to US President Barack Obama and express own opinion through the section created on the website of the America-Azerbaijan Allianceâ€.

Mammadov also spoke about the actions held by the alliance in the United States on the 20th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy: â€œâ€œThe New York Timesâ€ and â€œThe Washington Postâ€ newspapers dedicated whole pages to Khojaly genocide. The articles were also placed on the websites. The Khojaly posters were placed in about 400 subway trains and buses in Washington DC and the brochures containing information about this genocide act were distributed among the passengers in several airports of the USâ€.
