Azerbaijani Parliament adopts draft law ensuring rights and freedoms of detainees

He said that the draft law consisting of 4 chapters and 50 articles legalize the issue on ensuring the rights and freedoms of detainees and arrestees.

The law considers that the detainee can inform immediately his family members and relatives at arrival in the facility where he will be kept. Thus, the supervisors of the facilities are set a task on it, as well as the opportunity of detainees to get packages every day is legalized. The physical examination of the detainees will also be legalized.

The new law gives an opportunity to the detainee not only meet with the layer, but also his family members and other relatives. Besides, the detainee can subscribe to any newspaper.

The draft law was put to vote and adopted.

The parliament ended the Tuesday meeting.
