Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan meets PACE co-rapporteurs

Baku-APA. Z. Garalov underlined the dynamic development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and PACE at the meeting, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
He gave details on the ongoing modernization of the country’s legal system, adopted legal acts, creation of a legal framework of prosecutorial activities, specific achievements in the fight against corruption and joint projects with NGOs.
Prosecutor General said that to study implementation experience of European law, the legal precedent of the European Court of Human Rights is priority for the Azerbaijani prosecutor’s office.
Co-rapporteurs Agramint Pedro de Mora and Joseph Debono Grech welcomed the close cooperation between PACE and Azerbaijan. They appreciated the judicial and legal reforms and cooperation between the PACE and Azerbaijan on adoption of legislation aimed at ensuring the reliable protection of human rights. The co-rapporteurs expressed their support for democratic reforms in Azerbaijan and expressed readiness to provide all possible assistance in this process.
