Azerbaijani President starts his visit to Ganja
President Ilham Aliyev was informed on redevelopment work carried out in the Ganja City Central Square.
Aliyev attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a new building of the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall. The Head of State was warmly welcomed by constructors.The President was informed the new building would be built on the site of the Baku cinema and Children’s Creative Center.
The 6-storey facility will cover a total area of 1 hectare.
The building of the Ganja State Philharmonic Hall will have a 1200-seat concert hall, 2 cinema halls, a photo gallery, restaurants and cafes.
Aliyev put a time capsule into the foundation and covered it with liquid concrete.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also familiarized himself with the improvement and rebuilding work in the Javad khan Street in the country’s Ganja region. The Head of State viewed photo stands reflecting the previous look of the street.The President was informed that the Street is 435 meters in length. Seven fountains and monuments reflecting national customs and traditions were installed on the road.The Head of State also met and chatted with local residents.
The residents thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his care and attention.
Aliyev has today attended the opening of the Ganja aluminum factory complex.
“DET AL†aluminum complex covers the total area of 74 hectares. It features electrolysis, anode and metal factories. The foundation stone of the complex was laid in 2008. The construction of the complex involved over 2,000 people.
The facility’s preliminary manufacturing output is 50,000 tons of aluminum per year. The complex created 640 jobs at the preliminary stage, with the average monthly salary being AZN450 or nearly $580. The President viewed the complex`s electrolysis factory. Raw material for the factory is purchased from the Netherlands, Indonesia, China, Russia, Mongolia, Latvia, Venezuela and Tajikistan. The Head of State visited the complex`s automated control center.
He then launched the metal factory, where he viewed production process.
The President then proceeded to the site where a steel factory complex will be built. He was informed that the complex would include several factories. The President was told that $630 million will be invested in the construction work, which will be completed in 2016. The construction work will involve 3,800 people.
The President also met the facility`s employees and members of the general public.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Jan. 21 inspected reconstruction works at Nizami mausoleum in the city of Ganja. The Head of State viewed photo exposition reflecting the reconstruction works there. The President was informed that the 7,540 square meters area has been cobbled with granite plates, four swimming pools, two waterfalls and fountains have been re-built here.
Artificial lake and a bridge have been repaired again. Two walls of the road leading to the mausoleum have been reconstructed, ornamental trees were planted. The President was told that the two-storied museum dedicated to great Azerbaijani poet of the a 12th century occupies the area of 540 square meters.
President Ilham Aliyev laid flowers on the tomb of Nizami. The Head of State gave the relevant instructions and recommendations. The mausoleum standing just outside the city of Ganja, was originally built in 1947 in place of an old collapsed mausoleum. In the 1970s, at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, there was passed a decision on “study, publication and popularization of the heritage of the great poet and thinker Nizami", thus paving the way for further steps in this direction. President Ilham Aliyev last year in December issued a decree to celebrate the 870th birthday of the great Azerbaijani poet.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today opened the Nariman Narimanov Park in Ganja. The Head of State viewed photo stands reflecting the previous and current look of the Park. The Azerbaijan leader was informed that the facility covers a total area of 4,823 square meters. A bust of politician and thinker Nariman Narimanov was installed here. All conditions have been created here for residents` rest. President Ilham Aliyev praised the work done here.
President Ilham Aliyev has today inspected the construction works in the Flag Square in the country’s Ganja region. The Head of State was informed that construction of the Flag Square is one of the important projects being implemented in Ganja city. The length of the tricolor flag installed at a height of one hundred meters is 50 m, the width - 25 m, while the height of the pedestal is 4 meters. Azerbaijani state hymn and emblem were reflected on the marble plaque of the square. The improvement work was carried out around the square.
President Ilham Aliyev raised the state flag. The Head of State praised the works and gave relevant instructions.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the Nizami Ganjavi monument in “Khamsa†monumental complex in the country`s Ganja region.
The Head of State unveiled the monument and put flowers on it.
President was informed that the Khamsa monumental complex was erected by using octahedral, silver, candle, man-made pond and other elements. The monuments to the Nizami Ganjavi`s poems such as “Leyli and Medjnun,†“Treasury of Mysteries,’’ ’’Seven Beauties,’’ ’’Khosrov and Shirin,’’ and ’’Iskandernameh†were erected in the complex.

President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the draft of the center. The width of the center will be 20 m, length -50 m and height- 36 m. The center will be constructed by “Zafar tagi†Company. The total area of the center is 4500 square meters. The building of the Heydar Aliyev Center will have showrooms, e-library, subsidiary rooms, meeting hall and a 400-seat conference hall.

President Ilham Aliyev on Saturday got acquainted with the reconstruction works at the Imamzade mosque complex (VIII century) situated in the old cemetery near the Ganja city within his tour to the western regions of country.
The Head of State was informed on the sketches of complex with 2 ha area where the works are carried out in line with modern standards, on relevant presidential order on allotment of AZN3 million from the President’s reserve Fund.
As stated, the dome of the central building is covered with ornamental blue tiles. It is thought that a building was first erected here in the 8th century. Later, the complex was repeatedly rebuilt, most recently in 1878.
The latest construction works at this cemetery complex will renew and adorn the ancient city of Ganja to be one of the attractive points of tourism.
The President gave certain instructions to accelerate the works at the cemetery complex.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Jan. 21 inspected construction works at Gala architectural complex in Ganja.
The President was informed that Gala (Castle) complex is being built at the entrance to the city, on Ganja-Baku highway. The construction started in April, 2011. The road was extended to 22 meters on both sides. Each of the castle walls is 47 meters in length and 15 meters in height. The height of the castle tower is 22 meters. Along the road there will be erected statues and fountains featuring protagonists from Nizami’s five poems under the common name "Khamsa". President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
