US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State meets with heads of Azerbaijani opposition organizations

Baku â€“ APA. Co-chair of REAL movement Ilgar Mammadov, chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Karimli, chairman of Musavat Party Isa Gambar and chairman of Umid (Hope) Party Igbal Agazadeh met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin. APA was told at the REAL movement that head of the movement Ilgar Mammadov informed the diplomat about the preparations for the presidential elections in 2013. Assessing the US-Azerbaijan relations Ilgar Mammadov said the problem of appointment of ambassador damaged the US mediation in the Karabakh negotiations. He said the President, not the Senate plays the key role in the mediation, this requires balancing of the unpleasant situation in the Senate.
â€œArmenia, which wants to benefit from the unstable situation in our region, with the support of the imperialist circles of Russia attempts to escalate the Karabakh conflict. The aim is to impede economic and development prospects of Azerbaijan,â€ he said.
