Extended operational meeting held in the Main State Traffic Police Department
Speaking with the head of the head of the Directorate of Traffic Police in Baku Ramiz Zeynalov noted that last year found 892,409 violations of traffic regulations of which 18 233 are related to driving while intoxicated, 100, 755 - speeding, 13 940 - violation of the rules on overtaking.
During inspections of cars were seized and handed over to the investigating authorities 12 Kalashnikov assault rifles, four shotguns, 6 pistols, a grenade, 1429 cartridges of various calibers, as well as 43 kg of drugs.
Last year the service received treatment for stealing 181 cars, of which 168 were found.
Zeynalov noted that in 2011, 73 337 vehicles passed the initial registration. Total fleet of the republic is one million 49 thousand cars.
During the process of registration of automobiles were detained 65 people and 258 cars which were in search. Traffic police have identified 412 cases of discrepancy aggregate number of the registration documents. The materials of these cases were referred to the investigating authorities.
Zeynalov also reported that last year increased the number of killed and injured people in road accidents. On the roads of the country occurred in 2890 crash, which killed 1016, injured 3031. In the past year compared with 2010 the number of accidents increased by 169 (6.2%), dead at 91 (9.8%) affected in 160 (5.6%).
Overall 2707 (93.6%) of reported accidents occurred in connection with violations of traffic regulations. In particular, 1302 (45%) due to excessive speed, 23.2% (671) and passing out into the oncoming lane, 3% (88), driving while intoxicated. During the period 38.7% (1119) was run over accidents to pedestrians, as a result of this killing 392 people, injured 803.
Zeynalov noted that, although provided by the state social support traffic police, 25% an increase in their monthly salary from the funds collected fines, some officers commit negative actions. Last year, 697 officers have been punished, 39 dismissed from service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 20 employees were relieved of their positions.
Summing up the meeting Interior Minister Ramil Usubov noted that the traffic police personnel as a whole coped with assigned duties and tasks to ensure road safety. He also gave instructions to eliminate the negative cases occurred and deficiencies in the service.
