673 candidates (43,45%) have high education, 605 (39,06%) â€“ secondary-level education, 265 (17,11%) â€“ specialized secondary education and 6 (0,38%) â€“ junior secondary education.

Panahaov said 1169 polling stations would be opened on November 30 during the municipal elections. 1134 stations were established on common basis and 35 were formed in five days before the elections.

Representatives of 9 parties â€“ New Azerbaijan (YAP), Ana Vatan, Citizen Solidarity, Umid, Azerbaijan Social Welfare, All Azerbaijan Popular Front, Great System, Citizen Unity and Democratic reforms - were registered as the candidates. 709 are non-party candidates.

The last municipal elections in Azerbaijan were held on December 23, 2009.
