The delegation of INTERPOL that came to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was first informed about the goals and activity of the Foundation.

The delegation of INTERPOL viewed the exhibits and photos taken from Heydar Aliyev’s personal files covering various periods of his activity.

Following this, Mehriban Aliyeva met with INTERPOL’s delegation. She said they have got an opportunity to know Azerbaijan better. Noting that Azerbaijan celebrated the 20th anniversary of its independence, Mehriban Aliyeva said within this period the country has gained great achievements, become the leading state of the region, rapid development is observed in all spheres.

She emphasized that Azerbaijan is a secure country with lowest crime rate. President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation noted that Azerbaijan joined INTERPOL in 1992 and the state and government organizations have close relations with this organization.

Mehriban Aliyeva spoke about the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. “I hope we, as a non-governmental organization, can establish cooperation in the future”, First Lady of Azerbaijan said and added that Heydar Aliyev Foundation is working together with UN, UNESCO, UNICEF, ISESCO and other international organizations.

Calling Azerbaijan as an exemplary secure country, Ronald Noble underlined the experience of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in organization of cultural events and proposed to hold joint cultural events in Azerbaijan in the future.

Then Noble presented INTERPOL’s memorable medal for “Contribution to more secure world” to Mehriban Aliyeva. The medal was founded this year.

INTERPOL’s Secretary General said Mehriban Aliyeva was the first person decorated with this medal.
