Azerbaijani President inspects â€œIcheribazarâ€ tower complex in Gakh region

Baku â€“ APA. President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday inspected the reconstruction works at â€œIcheribazarâ€ (â€œInner marketâ€) tower complex, APA reports quoting â€œAzerTAcâ€ state agency.
The Head of State was informed that the fortified walls and the gates of the tower date back to the 16th century. The complex houses a wide range of historical and cultural monuments, including ancient carpets, native costumes and natural stones.
In accordance with a project, a 300-seat open-air theater and 10 studios were constructed here, Icheribazar Street and Nasimi Park were totally reconstructed.
The Head of State viewed photo expositions reflecting the previous and current state of the complex and general layout of Gakh region.
The President was told that reconstruction works started here in April, 2010.
The Head of State also familiarized himself with applied art, woodcarving, and carpet weaving studios, as well as oriental sweets and bakery shops in the Complex.
