Municipal election campaign begins in Azerbaijan

According to the election legislation, individual candidates, political parties and alliances could run for the municipalities in this election, but as the political parties and alliances were not registered for this election, only registered candidates will campaign now.

The election campaign began on Monday, at 08.00 and will last 21 days. It will be ended a day before the voting, on November 29 at 08.00.

The election will take place on November 30. 1567 candidates were registered to run for 330 municipalities in 86 electoral districts. Six recalled their candidacy and so 1561 candidates will participate in the elections.

The last municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan on December 23, 2009.
