Conference â€œThe role of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and civil society bodies in the integration into European Unionâ€ takes place in Baku

Conference on the theme â€œThe role of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and civil society bodies in the integration into the European Unionâ€ was held in Baku, APA reports. Making a keynote speech, chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentâ€™s committee for legal policy and statehood Ali Huseynli said the integration into Europe is the choice of Azerbaijan.
â€œAzerbaijan gives preference to the model of development of the European Union countries,â€ he said.

Ali Huseynli said the conference is the first event after the Warsaw summit of the Eastern Partnership program on September 29-30.
â€œBy holding his event Azerbaijan fulfills the commitments undertaken at the Warsaw summit,â€ he said.

Head of Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, chairman of the Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan Elkhan Suleymanov also said integration into the European Union was one of the major goals of Azerbaijan, improvement had been made in this direction.
â€œThe relations between Azerbaijan and EU have developed in the past 20 years,â€ he said.

Elkhan Suleymanov said Euronest Parliamentary Assembly offers platform to the Eastern Partnership countries to inform the world community about their problems and Azerbaijan can also voice Nagorno Karabakh problem from this platform.

President of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation George Zarubin said Euronest PA also offers opportunities for Azerbaijan to integrate into Europe in the sphere of legislation.

Secretary of the Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Vugar Mammadov made a speech on the theme â€œEuronest: Azerbaijanâ€™s activity, opportunities for cooperation with the civil society institutionsâ€, member of the Azerbaijani Lawyersâ€™ Confederation Sahib Mammadov on the theme â€œDialogue between the civil society institutions and government agencies in the integration into the European Unionâ€.

The event was continued with discussions.
