President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated Organ and Chamber Hall of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic after its reconstruction

Baku â€“ APA. The inauguration of the organ and chamber musical hall of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic after its major overhaul was held on December 30.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also attended the inauguration, APA reports.

At first President Aliyev acquainted with the building and conditions around it. During the acquaintance with the organ and chamber musical hall he was informed that this historical and architectural monument was built as an Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1896-1899. The building has functioned as a church till 1934. The first organ music was sounded here in 1900. Then the various cultural events were held here. From February 1, 1989 the building was handed over to Ministry of Culture, but during the years of independence straightly to Azerbaijan State Philharmonic.

The President and his spouse listened to the organ music and looked at the pictures reflecting the state of the building before repair.
