President of Azerbaijan: â€œAs pressure increase, we become steadierâ€

It has reasons." The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made this speech during the ceremony of "Journalistsâ€™ friend" award presenting in the Gulistan Palace.

The President noted that some Azerbaijan-related information is generally disseminated simultaneously with important regional processes: "The main reason for a smear campaign is an independent policy of our country, as it doesnâ€™t yield to dictation. As some forces have no leverage within Azerbaijan, therefore they resort to such dirty methods. We respond to all defamatory forces: We will not deviate from our strategic path. As pressure increase, we become steadier".

The President stressed that in the first years of independence, Azerbaijan lost the information war to Armenia, but today the success is on Azerbaijanâ€™s side: "Today I can confidently say that we are winning the fight against Armenia and the Armenian lobby. Their highly strung and hysterical behavior proves it. A role of press and increasing number of Azerbaijanâ€™s friends in the world play a decisive role. Azerbaijan is already engaged in an offensive campaign. We have all resources to do it. Information warfare is our priority. We must use all the most modern facilities in this direction".
