President Ilham Aliyev: "South Caucasusâ€™ 75% economy belongs to Azerbaijan"

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended a ceremony here in the settlement of Zabrat to open a newly-constructed building for the Karabakh war disabled and shahid families as well as to present cars to the Karabakh war disabled.

In the ceremony the president said that for the recent years more than 3.000 apartments had been granted to disabled persons of Karabakh war. This year 700 apartments were granted as well.

â€œI am sure, in the next 3-4 years, all citizens, who are currently in the queue for housing, will be provided with apartments built at the highest level. Besides it, today more than 200 cars are also granted. It has become a good tradition. Our compatriots have already been provided with more than a thousand, maybe two thousand cars. We do it all because you deserve it. Azerbaijani state appreciates your services.â€

Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan’s development as well as strengthening its positions in the region - is a reality: Azerbaijan is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world. Azerbaijan has excellent economic prospects. In this case, we mobilize and direct all our capabilities to carry out in Azerbaijan very strong social policy.

â€œIf in the early of 1990’s, there was an economic or military balance between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but today this balance has been violated. 75 percent of the economy of the South Caucasus belongs to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijanâ€™s financial capabilities enable us to solve in our favor any issue.â€

In his speech the president also touched upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict: "We simultaneously strengthen our army. We pay great attention to army formation, and lay out a lot of funds. Our army is the most powerful, strongest in the region, and attention paid to army formation manifests itself.â€
