President appeals to world Azerbaijanis

â€œThe existence of independent Azerbaijani state opens wide possibilities for further strengthening the national unity and institutional development of our compatriots. At the same time, our compatriots, living abroad, also try to provide direct assistance to the development of Azerbaijan and solve the emerging issues. The effectiveness of this assistance is possible thanks to strong unity, organization and good organizational establishment of our compatriots. Therefore, Azerbaijani state attaches a great importance to creation of the Diaspora and fully promotes this process. It is gratifying that the ideas of Azerbaijanism, national and spiritual values are gradually rooted among our compatriots living abroad more and more deeply. III Congress of World Azerbaijanis will be held in Baku next year. I am confident that the Congress will thoroughly review Diaspora organizationsâ€™ activities, and made decisions will boost the formation and organizational flexibility of our compatriots. Notwithstanding these successes, we should not forget that we still live in the conditions of war. Today we have no greater challenge than restoring the territorial integrity of our country. This is our nationwide matter. This factor leads us to raise the defense capacity of our country, pay special attention to strengthening the armed forces. I am proud to say that Azerbaijan is stronger than it ever was. Our strength is measured not only by economic and military power, but also by a tight solidarity. Therefore, wherever we live, the idea of national unity and solidarity, which unites us as core values, should prevail in the minds of all of us. The Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis reflects our compatriotsâ€™ love to the country, their respect for the history and culture, loyalty to the state and ideas of Azerbaijanismâ€, - itâ€™s said in the appeal.
At the end of his appeal the president once again congratulated World Azerbaijanis on the occasion of the holiday, and wished them happiness, prosperity and success in all endeavors!
