YAP deputy chairman: The internal problems have upset the radical wing of the opposition so much that it has been estranged from the social processes

He said according to the results of the elections, 71 members of YAP were elected to the parliament, it constitutes over 50 percent of the seats in the parliament.
â€œThe election campaign in 2010 reconfirmed a truth that is no more new for Azerbaijanâ€™s political life. It has been proved that the position of the opposition, particularly of its aggressive part has been weakened against the background of the increasing public prestige of the New Azerbaijan Party. I suppose the weakening of the positions of the opposition parties should be regarded as the logical consequence of their behavior. The reality is that the considerable part of the Azerbaijani opposition seems to exist in a virtual space. They are far from the realities of Azerbaijan, particularly of the interests, thoughts, wishes of Azerbaijani voters. Of course, every political organization can win support only from its voters. But the radical wing of the Azerbaijani opposition is engaged more in its internal problems. These problems have upset them so much that they have been estranged from the social processes,â€ Ali Ahmadov said.

Ali Ahmadov said over 20,000 people were admitted to YAP in 2010, the number of the party members reached 530,000.
â€œI can say assuredly that YAP is entering 2011 with great hopes,â€ he said.
