Deputy chairman of ruling party offers to adopt law on â€œOccupied territories of Azerbaijanâ€

APA reports that the main theme of discussion was the visit of the European Parliamentâ€™s representative Tomasz Poreba to Nagorno Karabakh without Azerbaijanâ€™s permission.

YAP executive secretary, MP Ali Ahmadov said that the letter, which will be sent to the President of the European Parliament, will also learn his position on the conflict.
â€œI propose to learn whether President of the European Parliament supports solution to Nagorno Karabakh problem within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity or not,â€ he said.

Ali Ahmadov noted that there is a need to adopt a law on â€œOccupied territories of Azerbaijanâ€. This law must cover how the international organizations can visit these territories, what sanctions can be imposed on them.

MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev also supported Ali Ahmadovâ€™s proposal. He said there is similar law in Georgia and Azerbaijan should also use this practice. Gudrat Hasanguliyev added that changes should be made to the statute of the parliament, the representatives of other parties in the parliament should be represented in the parliamentâ€™s administration. He also offered to set up committees on Karabakh, European integration.

MP Fazil Mustafa offered to prepare a new law on â€œPolitical partiesâ€. He offered to set up a relevant commission.

Vice-speaker Bahar Muradova also said there is a need to rework the law on â€œPolitical partiesâ€.
â€œThis law does not meet the present standards. It should be reworked in order to meet the modern requirements,â€ she said.

MP Sabir Rustamkhanli offered to establish a committee at the parliament on Azerbaijanis living abroad.

MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi touched on the discussion of the so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ at the House of Representatives. The parliamentarian said the parliament should immediately appeal to the House of Representatives and express its protest.
