YAP: Members of YAP not respecting the partyâ€™s decision and independently nominating for the parliament will be expelled from the party

Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. â€œThe YAP members nominated their candidacy or registered before the agitation period, the decisive phase of the election campaign, will be once more informed about the position and decision of the party and its leadershipâ€, press officer of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Huseyn Pashayev told APA.

He reminded about the YAPâ€™s position again: â€œThe partyâ€™s position and decision is that YAP nominated and supported its candidates on 114 electoral districts and YAP supports candidates of other parties or independent candidates in those districts where it has no own nominees. YAP will propose to the candidates not supported by the party to withdraw their candidacy. If they donâ€™t respect the partyâ€™s decision, they will be expelled from the party and will not be supported by YAP during the election campaign. We consider that if there is no partyâ€™s support their victory is under the questionâ€.

Pashayev said YAP addressed its members to withdraw their candidacy, but there were no individual talks with them. He said the partyâ€™s decision should be fulfilled by all members of the party not depending on their position and authority.

Some YAP members, including some members of the parliament from YAP and well-known YAP members, nominated their candidacy outside the partyâ€™s decision.
