Nomination of candidates for single-mandate constituencies starts in Azerbaijan

The citizens, who have passive right to vote, initiative groups of voters, political parties and blocs of the political parties can nominate candidates for single-mandate constituencies.

According to the Schedule of main actions and events for holding parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan confirmed by CEC today, constituencies will pass decisions on approving or rejecting the candidacy within five days after the documents are submitted to the constituency.

The constituencies will give signature sheets to the candidate, his/her authorized representative, authorized representatives of the political parties and blocs of the political parties after the decision is passed on approval of the candidacy.

The collection of the signatures will start after the constituency passes decision approving the nomination.

The time allocated for the submission of the necessary documents and initial financial report is from September till 18.00 October 8.

The pre-election campaign starts on October 15 and ends at 8.00 November 6.

CEC will complete receiving the documents for accrediting the organizations intending to hold exit poll on October 18.
