Azerbaijani President: Effective investments in various areas have led to great success
President notified that the coherence and effectiveness of the various government agencies and private companies in the aftermath of the disaster. The State has assumed all costs for reconstruction of homes damaged by floods and dam construction. Today it is implemented a specific plan in this direction. In particular the short term will be restored people’s homes.
President Aliyev said that before the onset of winter is expected to complete the process of returning these people to normal life. Simultaneously, work will continue to strengthen the shoreline and the construction of dams.
Next Aliyev noted that this quarter is scheduled to raise the minimum wage and pensions.
The Head of State also said that over the last 6 years in 4-fold reduced levels of poverty in the country. However, 11% of the population lives below the poverty line. The state is will assist this population through various social programs, still.
President Aliyev noted that construction of the social sphere, implementation of infrastructure projects in health, education, culture, sports etc. will be continued.
Is planned expansion of lending to the private sector. He said success in the process of returning previously undertaken by private enterprises loans. This year will be granted loans amounting to more than 100 million manat, and from next year, this amount is likely to be increased.
The President recalled that in 2010 is a "Year of Environment". In the first half of this year, the country has planted millions of trees. Only in Baku and Absheron planted 800 thousand trees, and this process will continue.
The President noted the significance f the transition of Azerbaijan to the Euro-2 standard, the continued construction of a recycling of household waste Baku, the construction of water purification systems in the regions.
He said that the is planned to complete construction of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline this year. This project is an important symbolic value: the revenues from the pipeline under construction pipeline. Over the past 6 years twice extended the area of parks and forests.
Speaking about oil and gas industry the President noted that foreign investors still show interest in Azerbaijan. “A growing number of companies that want to cooperate with us. This is an indication that Azerbaijan has large energy resources, high level of protection of foreign investments. Azerbaijan can serve as a model of international cooperation in the oil and gas industryâ€, The Head of State said.
President Aliyev said that now is becoming increasingly important sphere of gas production.
“Azerbaijan has established itself worldwide as a reliable gas supplier. We will raise the level of gas exports and also to seek new markets for gas. Our gas reserves are enormous, yet produce a negligible portion of these resources. For at least another hundred years, Azerbaijan will be a reliable exporter of gas to foreign markets. Simultaneously, work will continue on the gasification of regions within the countryâ€, he said.
Speaking about the energy sector President Aliyev said that this year is the construction of three hydroelectric power plants. Generally, planned for all the rivers of the country, where possible, to build a small hydroelectric power plants. This will save and to further increase gas exports. Also is working on the development of alternative energy.
According to the President there is a need to establish production of solar batteries in Azerbaijan.
The President said that the state budget for next year will be socially oriented. It is necessary to achieve maximum security of the state budget through taxes and fees. At the same time, President Aliyev stressed that country’s foreign exchange reserves are growing steadily and in the future will grow.
Have to make rational use of these funds by investing them in the economy in the form of loans, investments so that these projects, in turn, have brought revenue to the state budget, he said.
According to the President if it had not been invested heavily now Azerbaijan’s economy would be in difficult situation. The country has successfully overcome the impact of global crisis due to the development of the oil sector, the opening of new jobs, reduce dependence on imports, the implementation of infrastructure projects, road construction, lending, etc.
Azerbaijani President noted that in Azerbaijan there is development all-round. In all the cities are going on improvement and resolving social problems. Effective investments in various areas of investment have led to great success, he said.
