CEC and Council of Europe begins seminar training due to appeal proceedings and processing of complaints connected with parliamentary elections

Representatives of the District Election Commission on 125 constituencies of the country participated in the event held in Baku. CEC secretary Natig Mammadov said that the organization had always cooperated with international organizations and Venice Commission due to appeal proceedings: “Each period of the elections voters have right to appeal and complain. Processing of complaints has been prepared by CEC and Venice Commission. Registration of candidates during parliamentary elections will be realized at District Election Commissions and main duty of the commissions is to taking steps corresponding with demands of legislation and instructions”.

Special representative of CE Secretary General in Azerbaijan Veronica Cotek welcomes joint efforts for holding free and just elections: “All individuals of the society must be given right to vote. It is impossible to achieve it without independent and effective system of processing of complaints. Confidence and trust of people assume great importance. CEC secretary Natig Mammadov, experts of Council of Europe Serhi Kolchenko and Dovidos Vitkauskas delivered speeches at the seminar. They informed members of the District Election Commissions about appeal proceedings and processing of complaints. Along with speeches discussions also will be held at two-day event.
