Rabiyyat Aslanova: “Development programs of occupied territories have been elaborated and every small detail has been taken into consideration thereâ€
“I regret that Azerbaijani media has not found its decent place in the region. It has no close relations with the press of CIS countries, also Russia and Turkey. There is shortage of theme. The state of press is critical. I can offer two ways out. For example, Journalism academy may be established in Azerbaijan. Moreover, special translation centers may be established so that the world community can get acquainted with the important articles of the journalists. Measures should be taken to improve the state of journalists in Azerbaijan, but I do not support the title of honorary journalist,†she said.
Rabiyyat Aslanova said some of the new articles are about showbiz, some about incidents, others are foreign reports. According to her, mass media lacks materials based on serious analysis.
Aslanova touched upon the activities of the committee and the Parliament as well: “Today, Parliament is engaged in the activity peculiar to parliamentarism. Within 6 months of current year 722 applications entered the Committee. And we received 11 citizens. Sometimes someone fails in examination and we receive an application. Lately, 86-year old man demanded his inheritance property. And do you know how old his parents are? That is, such cases happen sometimesâ€.
Moreover, MP spoke about people’s settlement after the liberation of Nagorno Karabakh and programs on restoration of these territories: “Opinions about people will not return to their homes after the liberation of lands are false. Today, development programs of occupied territories have been elaborated. Every small detail has been taken into consideration there. Even it is known where will be situated a little police post, how the destroyed historical-architectural monuments will be restored. I can tell you that Shusha will be more wonderful than everâ€.
The committee head also noted that they would attend the PACE session in Oslo and spoke about Armenia’s non-constructive position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
