CEC holds its next meeting

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. The Central Election Commission (CEC) held its next meeting on Tuesday to discuss the changes in some district elections commissions, APA reports. CEC members approved the changes in open voting and then discussed the current issues. CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said it would be necessary to organize workshops for training of local election commissions and emphasized the role of international organizations, particularly IFES, OSCE and diplomatic missions of foreign countries in this process. The CEC chairman said there was an experience to work with those organizations during the elections. Panahov said the workshops and other events should be started on September 10, 2009. He said by the decision of the parliament CEC began to review the lists of voters in the territories of united municipalities.
