Azerbaijani President decrees to improve mechanism of financing of a number of media publications from state budget

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s President decreed to improve the mechanism of financing of a number of media publications from the state budget, Presidentâ€™s press service told APA. The Cabinet of Ministers is commissioned to take relevant measures, prepare proposals on conforming the effective legislative acts to the Decree and submit to the Azerbaijani President within a month. The Cabinet of Ministers and the related central executive body are to ensure conformation of the normative legal acts to the Decree and inform Azerbaijani President about it.

Under the Decree, decree #643 (Collection of Laws of Azerbaijan Republic, 1997, #5, article 425; 1999, #12, article 694) issued by the President on November 24, 1997 is considered invalid.

Azerbaijani parliament is recommended to consider the issue on making invalid decision #519 â€œFinancing childrenâ€™s media from budgetâ€ issued by the parliament on February 23, 1993.
