Sport sweepstake funding legalized in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. A new point was amended to the law on sport and physical education about the sweepstake funding of sport, APA reports. The law was amended during the third reading of the law on sport and physical education at the parliament committee on social policy.

Chairman of the committee Hadi Rajabli said this year 9 million AZN had been allocated for sport from the state budget, but this amount was not enough. He said therefore the amendment about sweepstake funding of sport was adopted and it would allow the sport to be funded by the sweepstakes, different lottery games alongside with the state budget.

The amendment was recommended to the parliament session on June 30.
