Will parties take summer vacation? - POLL
Deputy executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Mubariz Gurbanli told APA that the party functions basing on laws and the officials regularly go on leave.
“Everyone goes on leave in time. But the party does not declare vacation in a certain season. Those whose turn is in summer will go on leave,†he said.
Head of Central Executive Office of Musavat Party Arif Hajili said they have no special program for summer holidays.
“But the working schedule has been made simple. Some representatives of the party go to the regions, others to summer houses. But special vacation will not be declared. Musavat Party does not usually announce vacation, simply the schedule is a little free,†he said.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu said he is on leave.
“The other functionaries will go on leave after I return. Everyone has the right to rest, heads of political parties also need to rest. On the other hand, the more you rest, the more you restore your working ability. The person, who does not rest, cannot work efficiently. So I think heads of parties should also have a rest,†he said.
Co-chair of Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party Araz Alizadeh said indeed political parties in Azerbaijan had a rest for almost 20 years. “The parties have no hard working status. I have not taken monthly or even half-monthly holiday since 1979. I have no money and opportunities to spend holiday abroad. Therefore I will stay in Baku in summerâ€, said Alizadeh.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Karimli said they would also stay in Baku in summer. “We will be in Baku, but I can’t say that we have heavy schedule. We have no office therefore there is no office activity too. We have no special plans for summer holidayâ€.
Secretary of Azerbaijan National Independence Party Ali Orujov said the party leadership would have individual holidays. “The party administration will not declare general holiday due to the upcoming municipal elections. We are looking forward for active participation in the elections. Earlier the party declared the general holidaysâ€.
Chairman of All Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev said the party leadership would have severally holidays in July and August. “The people must have holidays if they work throughout year. We have no regulated working hours. There is a limited number of the party personnel who are working in the party’s headquarter full day. Other functionaries are working in other places. If they have holidays in their offices, it will be incorrect to call them to the party work. From this view, some persons are on vacation and other will also be on leave by turnsâ€.
Chairman of Umid Party Supreme Mejlis Avaz Aghayev said they wouldn’t take holidays because of upcoming municipal elections. “There are important issues to be done ahead and the most important of them is the preparation for the municipal elections. The party is doing serious work on the eve of elections. We will organize tours in the regions next month and will meet with the candidates. Therefore we will not take a restâ€.
