Azay Guliyev: â€œWe are concerned over some items proposed to the law on nongovernmental organizationsâ€

We will announce this opinion,â€ Chairman of the Council of State Support for NGOs under President Azay Guliyev said, APA reports. Guliyev said the proposed amendments and annexes could not be assessed unambiguously.
â€œThe main thing is to continue offering conditions to NGOs, improve the legislation,â€ he said.

Azay Guliyev said it was not right to say that all the items were antidemocratic, they created obstacles for NGOs.
â€œIt is not right either to say that if the items are adopted as they are, it will not damage the NGO sector. We are concerned over the items on establishing branches of NGOs, auditing service, making NGOs commercial organizations automatically, in case over 50 percent of their profit is gained from commercial activity. But the items about Azerbaijanâ€™s statehood, protection of transparency, security are praiseworthy,â€ he sad.
