Some AzerRos members propose to hold extraordinary congress

The letter was signed by Tahir Hajiyev, Chairman of the Organizing Committee which was created to prepare for the congress. Addressing chairwoman of the AzerRos Federal Council Mehriban Sadigova and AzerRos president Asif Maharramov, it explains the reasons that led to them wanting to hold the extraordinary congress.

It is also noted that the key reason for their displeasure is the actions and behavior of the organization’s president, Asif Maharramov. After Asif Maharromov was elected as president of the organization with the request of Honorary President of AzerRos Soyun Sadigov and chairman of the Council of Elders Abbas Abbasov, AzerRos has become a place of argument, intrigue and rumors for two years: “It’s sad that the majority of Azerbaijanis now fail to recognize our organization, some even don’t want to hear about it. We don’t receive invitations to events. Our door is not knocked at. That is the consequence of an unsuccessful policy and inaction of the man running this organization. We believe he is trying to put an end to the organization.

What opinion can be formed about a man who said his employees that he would drive a tank over Azerbaijanis and uttered obscene phrases against the whole nation? Representative of which nation is a person who silenced everyone trying to speak about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Khojaly tragedy at the conference of Moscow Oblast Government? Can a person who kept silent when the Azerbaijani map was demonstrated without Nagorno Karabakh and 7 occupied regions at Kazan forum, neglected even those who objected to it be called as a president of AzerRos? Is it possible to have a normal dialogue with a person threatening everyone with his fellow majors of Russian Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service at the platform?

The letter says that Maharramov began the destruction of other organizations of the Azerbaijanis following AzerRos, audio and video materials on the activities of the Azerbaijanis in Russia and other countries since 1988, as well as entire archive of AzerRos were destroyed through his efforts.

AzerRos was previously headed by Soyun Sadigov. Then Sadigov resigned. The company’s Council of Elders was established. Abbas Abbasov was elected chairman of the Council of Elders and Asif Maharramov president of AzerRos.
