President Ilham Aliyev congratulates the World Azerbaijanis

APA reports the head of state noted that this holiday was established by the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on National Leader Heydar Aliyevâ€™s initiative in December, 1991 and later adopted across the country. The World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, every year solemnly celebrated by the Azerbaijanis living in the country and abroad, embodied the national unity, love to Azerbaijan, respect to the national-spiritual values and close feelings to the homeland.

According to him, the idea of the solidarity of world Azerbaijanis, caused thinking of our compatriots for a long time, was raised to the level of state thanks to the historical contributions of the national leader and carried out successively. Strengthening of the national consciousness, increasing of unity and self-discipline and relations with the historical homeland in recent years shows that the Diaspora potential turned into the important factor.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that the process of strengthening of the national Diaspora policy, unity and solidarity of our compatriots, their formation in more organized forms, entered into the new phase and our compatriots took strong position in delivering of the Azerbaijani realities to the world community and popularization of our cultural heritage. Influential measures are carried out in the field of establishing the useful cooperation with the lobby and Diasporas of the friendly peoples with the support of Azerbaijani state. The head of state noted that all resources of Azerbaijan were directed to the prosperity of the nation and strengthening of the countryâ€™s position across the globe. According to him, Azerbaijanâ€™s role in maintenance of global energy security of the world is increasing at an accelerated pace.

The head of state said he successfully overcame all the challenges: â€œToday, the only problem we are concerned about is the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh and restoration of territorial integrity of our country. We take all necessary measures to achieve peaceful and just solution of this complicated and painful problem. The president emphasized that along with the Government of Azerbaijan, all of our compatriots should make every possible endeavor for sooner and just settlement of the conflict. â€œOur Diaspora should increase its activeness and establish close relations with Diaspora centers of other nations. On the eve of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, I invite all of you unite closely and work more productively for the protection of our national interests, development of our independent state and increase of our international reputation. I congratulate every one of you on this holiday and wish you happiness, welfare and success!â€
