Court investigation begins against vandals who destroyed Azerbaijani soldiers’ monument in Sevastopol

Crimea – APA. A court investigation began against the group of vandals who destroyed monument of Azerbaijani soldiers died at the World War II in the battles for Sevastopol. Leader of the Crimea’s Azerbaijani community Rahim Humbatov told APA that Balaklavsk district court would investigate the case and preparatory process was expected to begin later January or early February.

Georgian citizen Edward Arakelyan, 47 initiated the vandalism against the monument of Azerbaijani soldiers in Sapun Mounatin. He persuaded local citizen Andrey Ganin, 42 to commit the act of vandalism against the monument. The criminals parted the iron plate and sold it as scrap metal. Two are detained no in the Sevastopol’s investigative isolator. They may face with five years of imprisonment. Humbatov said Crimea’s Azerbaijani community was attentively followed their trial.
