International conferences on mass violation of human rights in armed conflicts to be held in Berlin and Geneva

Baku â€“ APA. International conferences on the mass violation of human rights in armed conflicts will be held with the support of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYFDC) on the occasion of the UN Human Rights Day in Berlin and Geneva on December 10, Media Department of ICYFDC told APA. The conferences will be held within the framework of the â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ International Awareness Campaign initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Chief Coordinator for ICYFDC Intercultural Dialogue on May 8, 2008. The aim of the campaign is to inform the world community about the crime against mankind committed in Khojaly and achieve legal, political assessment by the world community.

ICYFDC office in Istanbul said the conferences are the first events in terms of their scale, and level of involvement of civil society representatives of the European countries.

The conference in Geneva entitled â€œArmed conflicts and human rightsâ€ will be held in the Palais des Nations. Diplomats, heads of the organizations protecting human rights from various countries of Europe and the activists of the campaign will attend the event.

The Khojaly massacre will be discussed along with the crimes committed by the Nazis, genocides in Srebrenitsa and Rwanda during the World War II.

Three-day international conference on the massacre committed by Armenian dashnaks against Azerbaijani and Jewish population of Guba in 1918 will held in Berlin on the initiative of former member of Bundestag Eduard Lintner.

Signatures will be collected for the declaration of the campaign condemning Khojaly massacre and other massacres.

The conferences are of great importance for discussing the international recognition of the Khojaly massacre and preparing concrete recommendations to carry out activities in Europe.
