Count Pyotr Sheremetev to visit Baku to attend 3rd congress of Azerbaijanâ€™s Russian Community

Viktoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œThe Russian Diaspora in Azerbaijan is living conveniently and is far from the threat of violation of rights,â€ head of Azerbaijanâ€™s Russian Community, member of Azerbaijani parliament Mikhail Zabelin said, APA reports. Zabelin said the biggest Russian community in the South Caucasus lives in Azerbaijan, 160,000 Russians live in the country.
â€œDue to the stable living in Azerbaijan very few Russians move to Russia, in most cases they return. 15 families wanted to return to Azerbaijan last year, 8 families have already returned,â€ he said.

Mikhail Zabelin said important issues for the Russian community will be discussed at the 3rd congress of Azerbaijanâ€™s Russian Community. 320 delegations from various regions and cities of Azerbaijan and foreign guests will attend the congress. Count Pyotr Sheremetev from France, Count Dmitry Romanov from Denmark, representatives of Moscow administration, the representatives of the Azerbaijani community living in Moscow and Ryazan will attend the congress. The guests will also visit Ivanovka village of Ismayilli and hold meetings in Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Mikhail Zabelin underlined that one of the main problems of the Russian community is that few young people know Azerbaijani. The community intends to organize competitions to increase the interest of the Russian youth in Azerbaijani. The Russian community is going to hold a conference on the theme â€œRussian youth of Azerbaijan â€“ integration into the countryâ€™s economic and political lifeâ€ by the year-end.
