Number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan due to Eurovision made public

Minister said that about 6000-7000 Eurovision representatives and delegations visited Azerbaijan due to the contest: â€œTotal amount of people arriving in Azerbaijan is not more than 30,000-40,000. This amount was more than 100,000 during the Eurovision. It may be concluded that more than 50,000 people arrived in Azerbaijan for the purpose of tourism. These people arrived in Azerbaijan to watch Eurovision and feel this joy at site, consequently, the number of tourists visiting our country increased. Holding the Eurovision with great success will give a great impetus to the increase of tourists visiting Azerbaijanâ€.

The minister said that people came to Azerbaijan during the 57th Eurovision from the countries with comfortable transport and direct flights: â€œUndoubtedly, the factor of comfortable transport and direct flights plays a great role here. Most people arrived in Azerbaijan from Russia, Georgia, Iran, Central Asian republics and Turkey. Special groups even from the US visited Azerbaijanâ€.
