The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) debunked on Thursday Iran's claims that a Singapore-flagged container ship hit a naval missile in the Strait of Hormuz the previous day, APA reports.
"The civilian container ship M/V GFS Pride was hit by an IRGC projectile. The vessel sank while being towed to shore. Despite the attack, commercial ships continue to flow through the Strait of Hormuz (whose primary routes remain clear of mines), with more than 40 ships moving in the last 24 hours," CENTCOM stated in a social media post.
The military went on to say that Iran's claims of killing "hundreds of US service members in Jordan" are also false, stressing that only three of the country's troops lost their lives.
