Measures being taken against foreigners living in Azerbaijani capital without registration due to Eurovision-2012 Song Contest

APA reports quoting â€œPolisâ€ newspaper of Baku city Main Police Office that the important tasks were given to the bodies of internal affairs in organization and holding of Eurovision-2012 Song Contest. A special Action Plan was prepared in the Interior Ministry for the purpose of effective implementation of these tasks and ensuring high level security measures.

A public order will be protected around venue of the contest, working, resting, amusement and living places of contest participants, officials and delegations, as well as the central streets. Concrete people were involved in this work. At the same time, taking into account that the guests will use the pubic transport, the preventive measures are being taken towards ensuring public order and security in metro, public transport buses, railway station and prevention of crimes (especially pickpocketing).

Women police officers were involved in the service for the organization of outside service in accordance with modern requirements and relevant works were carried out for the employees to take English courses. Special centre consisting of the employees with excellent knowledge of foreign languages was established to send to the places, where an incident on the foreigners will occur. Number of the police guards increased in the hotels, where the foreigners will settle.

Control measures were tightened to observe the registration rules in Baku. The process on determination of foreigners, living in the city without registration and taking corresponding measures about them are being continued with the relevant state organizations.

Relevant measures are being continued to prevent beggars and illegal trade at the streets of Baku. Combating vagrancy and beggary, prevention of such cases and determination of people, who incite children to the beggary were strengthened in the capital due to the contest
