"The theme of COP29, climate change, is also related to health," Maria Neira, Director of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization, said during a joint press conference on climate, health, and children organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and Lancet Countdown at COP29, APA reports.

Maria Neira said that COP29 will also focus on protecting health in the face of climate change: "Polluted air and water are consequences of climate change, and they lead to health problems. By improving the quality of the air we breathe, we can reduce the number of deaths that occur every year as a result. In other words, we can gain a lot from addressing climate change and taking actions to mitigate its impact."
