“We consider the COP29 event hosted by Azerbaijan as an opportunity for the bright future of humanity,” Mehmet Akkan Süver, President of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation, said on the second day of the Global Summit of Religious Leaders, APA reports.
He noted that, alongside the great social hardships caused by wars on Earth, climate issues also contain the signs of another disaster: “In such a situation, the COP29 to be held in Baku is very important. Azerbaijan’s initiative is not only about climate change. At the same time, we expect this event to ensure that people live far from chaos, conflicts, and wars. Baku’s invitation will play a major role in ensuring international peace. The gathering of religious leaders in Baku is a significant contribution to this initiative.”
