“USD 200 billion of investment is required to achieve net zero carbon emissions in Azerbaijan. If our economy becomes greener, our net income will also increase,” Executive Director of COP29 and Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov said at the Sustainable Development Goals Dialogue held on the theme "Sounds of the Future: Climate Action and Coordination of Efforts Towards Global Goals", APA reports.
He said that the issues we have to solve within the framework of COP 29 are very important.
“The share of Azerbaijan's economy in the world economy is not that big. However, quite large sums are required for the green transition. That's why national climate commitments are so important. We will present an ambitious climate action plan," he added.
