"Our main goal is to bring new global initiatives to the agenda in discussions with the leaders and officials of 15 countries representing the African region within the framework of COP29," Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo, said while speaking at the Congolese National Pavilion located in the Blue Zone of COP29, APA reports.
He also added that all regions of his country will be aligned with the green city concept: "I have already issued the relevant directives on this matter. On the other hand, people, especially the youth, must treat all planted trees with care."
The Congolese leader said that they want to draw attention to this issue by organizing a series of major events at the Congo National Pavilion during COP29, and stressed that the government will strive to ensure that the country's natural resources contribute to the development of environmental sustainability and greening efforts.
